How many of our teacher knows how to design and maintain Web sites that will support the courses they will teach? And how many knows how to use presentation software and other multimedia products effectively, or some of the many hand-held devices?

This article is about preparing teachers for the 21st century classroom as they are responsible for improving k-12 education. This era is an electronic one, from e mail, e-pals, e-tutors, e-books, e-shops, e-commerce, e-subscriptions, e-classifieds, e-files, e-cards, e-journals, e-payments, e-entertainment, e-museums, e-zoos, e-papers, e-spaces, e-travel, e-delivery, e-notebooks, e-banking, e-libraries, e-photos, e-courses to e-learning. So, teachers should prepare their students for college and the work environment which will include these tools to obtain and maintain student interest in classroom.

It would be good if this article mentioned some of the problems that hinder teacher from using technology as it should be whither these problems were related to finance, time devoted to preparation of lessons by teacher, teacher personal view of new technology and many others। How to remove these obstacles from the way of educations development would be useful to discuss too.

The writer examines teacher participation in online social networking sites. He presents results on preservice teachers' perspectives on the benefits of social networking and ways of safely participating in social networking sites. He then discusses potential classroom applications of Web 2.0 technologies. I find this article related to the topic and very interesting to read since it relate general educational-technology related topic but from personal experience.
